ATLAS OF REMOTE ISLANDS: Fifty Islands I Have Never Set Foot On and Never Will
This wonderful atlas belongs to my most treasured books. As it is summer and travel season I thought it’s the perfect time to share it with you. On my photos you will see the German edition, but don’t worry, the book was released in English and many other languages as well!
The author and designer is Judith Schalansky who was born in Germany in 1980. She studied Communcations Design and History of Arts. Currently she is living and working in Berlin. Judith published four books already, among them the tribute to blackletter “Fraktur Mon Amour” and the novel “The Giraffe’s Neck”.
The Atlas of Remote Islands captures fifty islands together with the captivating stories and rumors about them. From Easter Island to Lonely Island and from Pukapuka to St Kilda, Judith carries us off to places so remote that we probably will never visit them. The fascinating narratives are accompanied by beautiful cartographic drawings that were created by Judith too.
