Danie Mellor is an Australian contemporary artist whose work explores themes that are critically linked to cultural histories and concepts of the landscape. He is deeply driven by his European and Aboriginal ancestry and holds a strong spiritual and cultural connection to the region of the Atherton Tablelands in Northern Queensland that is home to his mother’s family. Mellor’s signature colors blue and white let you think of spode bone china and confront our understanding of the past in a surprising way.

Yes! Totally reminds me of china…except…not at all. Very interesting stuff. I looked at it for a while.
It really is interesting and I am happy that it made you pause for a moment. Have a nice day Traci!
Amazing work!
It is beautiful and fascinating work; and being his mother, and one of his art teachers at school, it does of course draw me in! Lovely to see it on your elegant and interesting blog, Sarah.
