I follow the Instagram account of Alfie Douglas since they launched their label some years ago. Ever since I admire their sophisticated collections that all combine functionalilty and minimalism along with the finest materials. What I didn’t know until today is that Alfie Douglas was founded by one family of creatives. Doesn’t make this fact the brand even more sympathic? Another great point I need to mention is that all leather goods of Alfie Douglas are handmade in their London Studio. And there are a lot of them: bags, backpacks (my favourite), briefcases, totes, shoppers, buckets, saddle bags and several accessories like camera straps. Only custom finished Italian leathers and nickel hardware are used and whether they are combined with tough cotton canvas, or strong and practical nickel zips, each and every new design retains the unique Alfie Douglas look. To make their beautifully simple products attainable for a wider range of customers, Alfie Douglas cuts out the ‘middleman’. Good for us.
Visit their creative studio and warehouse in London
In their iconic light-filled warehouse in West London they do not only design, create and make their products. This is also a place where creatives can interact and incubate ideas, which is why Alfie Douglas encourages graduates and makers to share this space with them and create new ideas and experiment with new techniques. Beside that any interested customer can visit the studio, meet the makers, shop the products and experience the processes that go into making each product. All you need to do is making an appointment. If I’d live in London, I wouldn’t think twice about this opportunity!
“Our products are original. They are simple visually and in the way that they are made. Ingenious in the way that they can be adapted and customised in their function. Each one is different, singular, made by hand to be reliable and sustainable. Our customers are individuals with a strong sense of identity. Adventurous and energetic. Free and active. Confident and capable, actively seeking new adventures. Cherishing and valuing their possessions, conscientious of their impact on the future. Life is busy, our products are made for that life. You work. You play. You travel. Our products work with you, are dependable and mould to suit you.”

I am definitely not a minimalist, by any means, but sometimes I wish I were. I love how simple, yet elegant these pieces are! I absolutely love the cuff!
I am really happy that you still like the pieces, although you aren’t a minimalist! 😉
i am not really a minimalist… though sometimes i aspire to be, and i do love minimalist style. these designs are amazing! i really admire the craftsmanship and the vision comes across really strongly in the pieces. i love the black/one strap bag in the third photo down, how they wear it on their back a little bit. looks really cool, modern, and simple. the camera strap is a beauty, too! i’m not a fan of the brown/tan color, but love the black pieces! i’ve never heard of alfie douglas so thanks for the introduction! i hope to visit london some day…!
also- i love your blog. you have a great eye for design!
Hey Amber, thank you so much for your kind words about my blog and your beautiful comment on the products of Alfie Douglas. The bag with the one strap only belongs to my favourites as well. This style is absolutely unseen and it still looks so natural the way the model wears it.
I hope you’ll get to London very soon! 🙂
