Caron Callahan is a collection created for women who love beautiful clothes but don’t need to make a fuss about them. The company ethos is rooted in well-made, feminine clothes, while keeping in mind that they should be playful, purposeful and wearable. The label’s owner and designer, Caron Callahan, constantly inspired by her friends and neighbors, sets out to make clothes for a creative, spirited woman who loves fashion, but doesn’t necessarily follow it.
After graduating from the Gallatin School of NYU, Caron pursued her fashion interests first at Barneys New York, working in design for the private label division, and then moved on to Tracy Feith. Working for Tracy as his design assistant, Caron fell in love with the balance of creativity and reality that fuels small designers. Looking for her own life inspiration, she left New York for a year and travelled abroad into Asia, Africa, and Europe. Upon returning, she worked immediately with Derek Lam and Steven Alan. With her experiences and education, her own label was created with the intent to marry understated femininity and function. The beautiful campaign I am showing you below was photographed by Dan McMahon. The jewelry pieces in the photos are by Erin Considine and the Model is Dakota by Next Models.
